Our culture

Working, the Alma way

We have a simple philosophy based around mutual respect. If employees need to be chained to a desk or the structure of 9 to 5 with an hour for their lunch, they are not the right people to be advising our clients.

Flexibility has always been a key component of our culture and that can only work when every member of the team has the trust of those around them. We expect our team to work long hours at times to meet our clients’ needs, so we also expect them to find time to enjoy themselves and wind down. We do not expect them to take a half day’s holiday to go to the dentist or justify how they spend their time. It’s all about balance.

We focus on the quality of work and advice we provide, not how many hours we spend in the office. We have a culture of which we’re fiercely proud and our outstanding retention record, both staff and clients, suggests we’ve got something right.

As a high-growth, entrepreneurial business, working at Alma offers huge opportunity for progression. We invest in our people through training, bespoke to individual’s needs and interests.

We are an equal opportunity employer, and we are determined to ensure that no applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment.

Our chosen charity is Street League, which is the UK’s leading sport for employment charity. We are proud to support them with fundraising events throughout the year.
